Albania

As a crossroad of cultures and people throughout history, Albania, as well as the other countries that are nowadays included in the ‘Balkans’, has had a turbulent and violent history.

One of its main historical characters is George Kastrioti Skanderbeg. Equestrian statues of Skanderbeg in Albania are in Tirana (by Odishe Paskali 1968), in Krujë  (by Janaq Paco 1958), with a copy in Pristina (Kosovo) 2001.

Another equestrian statue of Skanderbeg in the Balkans is the one by Thomas Thomai Dhamo in Skopje (Macedonia) 2006.

Equestrian statues portraying Skanderbeg outside the Balkans are in Rome and in Michigan (US).
