- Rider(s):Colleoni, Bartolomeo
(1400–1475) became general-in-chief of the armies of the Venetian Republic in 1455. Colleoni had a mixed career fighting for Venice, switching sides from Venice to Milan and from Milan to Venice again. Though his allegiance changed several times, he never switched sides before his term of service was over. Colleoni also never sacked villages and cities like other condottieri did.
