(1730 –1800) general of the Russian Empire and famed for his military manual ‘The Science of Victory’ was one of the few generals in history who never lost a battle. During the Russo–Turkish War of 1787–1792 (one of a series of 13 wars between the Russian Empire and the Ottoman Empire between 1568 and 1918, being one of the longest conflicts in European history) Suvorov, commanded an army of Imperial Russian and Habsburg troops. He defeated the Ottomans forces near Focsani (Romania).
