- Rider(s):Michael the Brave
(1558–1601), Prince of Wallachia, Transylvania and Moldavia, ruled all three principalities in a personal union for a short period of time; less than six months. It was the first time that these three principalities, forming the territory of present-day Romania and the Republic of Moldova, were ruled by a single Romanian leader. Michael the Brave is regarded as one of Romania’s greatest national heroes.
