(1896-1974) was the most prominent Soviet military commander of the Great Patriotic War, as World War II is known in Russia. He directed the defense of Moscow and Stalingrad and was instrumental in lifting the siege of Leningrad in 1944. He then led the soviet assault on Germany culminating in the capture of Berlin in 1945. General Dwight Eisenhower was a great admirer of Zhukov, and the two toured the Soviet Union together in the immediate aftermath of the victory over Germany.

Description:
In 1995, a monument to the great commander G. K. Zhukov was erected in front of the Headquarters of the Urals Military District.
For a long time, the commission for the acceptance of the monument did not give permission for its construction. The reason was that the monument was riding a rearing horse, so they began to doubt its stability. The masters of “Uralmash” redid the legs of a horse of a hollow construction with a steel frame on a monolithic without a frame.
