The statue of Stefan Czarniecki stands just outside the fence of an area with military barracks in Komorowo. Inside the fence is a lane with on both sides monuments, dating from 1932 – 1934, portraying kings, hetmans and commanders of the November uprising. They are made of reinforced concrete. On the one side of the lane: monuments of Hetman Karol Chodkiewicz, Władysław II Jagiełło and Hetman Jan Tarnowski. On the other side: Władysław I, John III Sobieski and Hetman and Chancellor of the Crown Stefan Żółkiewski. The monument of Bolesław I the Brave is located on the axis of the alley as a culmination point.
Despite quite a lot of arguments from my side I was not allowed to enter the terrain to make pictures of the sculptures inside the fence. That was against the rules. Nobody could explain the reasoning behind these rules. It meant anyway that the equestrians among these sculptures can not be qualified as statues as they are not accessible for public. With the exception of the one of Stefan outside the fence.
