Baglioni, Horatio

In the Basilica di San Giovanni e Paolo in Venice are four gilded wooden equestrian sculptures of condottieri. One of them, the condottiero Baglioni from Perugia (who died in 1617), is portrayed in a way that is reminiscent of Saint George and the dragon, with Baglioni’s horse crushing the enemy.
