- Codre, Florin
This equestrian statue by Florin Codre was erected in 2010, replacing the equestrian by Ivan Mestrovic established in 1930 and melted down by the communists in 1948 to build a statue for Lenin. The unveiling of the statue by Florin Codre caused a lot of dispute. Was it plagiarism, a bad copy of the Mestrovic sculpture or a new and original statue?
