In its thousands of years of continuous history, with kingdoms, empires and warlords, China produced many equestrian sculptures, but for unknown reasons, hardly any equestrian statues. The Mongol Empire defeated one of their dynasties, the Jin dynasty. This would prove to signal the start of the Yuan dynasty, which is considered to be both a successor to the Mongol Empire and an imperial Chinese dynasty.
