This monument commemorates the Polish cavalry during the German invasion in 1939. Kaluszyn was the scene of a major cavalry-battle. The statue was unveiled at the 75th anniversary of the cavalry charge. The statue is based on an early 19th century painting of Napoléon crossing the Alps on horseback.
