A dramatic and magnificent bronze sculpture: Man Fighting a Lion. The sculpture depicts a man seated on a rearing horse with a roaring lion lying just beneath the horse, reaching up and clawing the front flank of the horse. The original cast stands in front of the National Museum in Berlin. This replica at the entrance of the Philadelphia Art Museum was installed in 1929.
