(1816–1877) was the founder of the Rana dynasty. He eliminated the factional fighting at the court, introduced innovations into the bureaucracy and the judiciary, and made efforts to modernize Nepal. He is one of the most important figures in Nepalese history, though modern historians also blame Jung Bahadur for setting up the dictatorship that repressed the nation for more than 100 years, leaving it in a poor economic condition.

Description:
The pose of rider and horse reminded me of the statue of James Outram in Kolkata. It therefore came as no surprise to learn that Thomas Brock was a pupil of John Henry Foley, who created the Outram statue.
