( -1151), governor of Mertola. Few Figures in the Islamic history of Portugal are so intriguing as Ibn Qasi(ar), the Sufi Master, who led a revolt against the central power of the Almoravid dynasty in Al-Garb Al-Andalus. He was assassinated in Silves in 1151. Ibn Qasi wrote a treatise on Philosophy, Sufism and History.
