Don Quixote

By far the most popular hero on horseback from literature is Don Quixote, often accompanied by Sancho Panza on his donkey. Equestrian sculptures of this hidalgo, created by the novelist Miguel de Cervantes, can be found in many places: from Bulgaria to Japan, from Cuba to the US, and of course in Spain.
