(1433–1488) was a Rajput chieftain belonging to the Kachwaha clan of Amer/Jaipur, ruling over Amarsar (Jaipur). Shekhaji always believed in independence and sovereignty from the clutches of Tikai Amber state rulers, to whom he was paying yearly tributes as a token of respect being a younger brother from the Kachhwaha clan. Shekhaji expanded his territory and stopped paying yearly tributes. After a decade of battles he was recognized as an independent ruler. Fighting the Gaur Rajputs, Shekhaji died in Ralawta, where a cenotaph was built and an equestrian statue was erected.
