Shumsher, Bir

or Jang Bahadur Ran1855–1901), son of Dhir Shumser and chief mastermind behind the murder of Ranoudip Singh in 1885, was the third prime minister of Nepal. He served from 1885 to 1901. There were many reforms during Bir Sumshere’s time. His successor for three months, after his death in 1901, was his brother, Deva Shamsher.
