or Chandra Shamsher Jang Bahadur Rana (1863–1929) was the fifth prime minister of Nepal from the Rana dynasty. He abolished slavery and signed the Anglo-Nepalese Treaty of Friendship in 1923, which recognized the independence of Nepal. He was a dominant figure who mercilessly controlled the King of Nepal, once going so far as to hold a loaded pistol to his head. At the age of twelve, he was one of the three nephews who murdered Ranoudip Singh. The first version of this statue sank while being shipped from England. As the statue was insured, a new one was able to be ordered.
