Tokugawa Yoshimune

(1684–1751) was the eighth shogun of the Tokugawa shogunate. Yoshimune became shogun in 1716. His term would last for 30 years and he is considered among the best of the Tokugawa shoguns. He retired in 1745, took the title Ōgosho, and left his public post to his oldest son.
