Zheng Chenggong (Koxinga)

(1624 – 1662), a Chinese Ming dynasty loyalist, was born in Hirado, Japan. He led the Ming Chinese loyalist resistance against the Manchu Qing invaders, expelled the Dutch from Taiwan in 1661 and established a dynasty, the House of Koxinga, which ruled the island as the Kingdom of Tungning from 1661 to 1683.
