Argentina is the country with the most equestrian statues in South America: at least 26. The way Argentina has treated the statues of its rulers is remarkable. Despite of the fact that some of the portrayed rulers were removed after armed conflicts and were (and in some cases still are) detested for their policies, their statues are maintained as the list hereafter will show and not like in most other countries destroyed by their adversaries. This may have to do with the fact that most of the statues were erected long after the decease of the rulers concerned. Anyway, this has resulted in a series of equestrian statues of Argentine rulers in the fascinating capital Buenos Aires.
