There are only a limited number of equestrian statues in Africa, as Africans did not have the tradition of portraying their heroes or rulers in this way. Moreover, the climate in most parts of the continent is also not favourable fo bronze statues. European colonialists erected some equestrian statues, but most of these have been removed.
